Idaho Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) - 2012
 

Wheat stubble with bufferThe Conservation Stewardship Program pays participants for conservation performance.  The program encourages agricultural and forestry producers to address resource concerns by improving and maintaining existing conservation activities and undertaking additional conservation activities.

CSP is available to all producers regardless of operation size or crop produced.  Eligible lands include cropland, hayland, pastureland, rangeland, nonindustrial private forest lands, and agricultural land under the jurisdiction of an Indian tribe.  Participation in the program is voluntary.

CSP applications are accepted on a continuous basis with announced cut-off dates for ranking and funding.  The next application cut-off date is January 27, 2012.

CSP offers participants two possible types of payments:
  1. Annual Payment:
    The participant will receive an annual payment for installing and adopting additional activities, and improving, maintaining and managing existing activities.  Activities may include conservation practices and/or enhancements.
  1. Supplemental Payment:
    The participant may earn a supplemental payment for the adoption of resource-conserving crop rotations.
