2004 County Funding
The formula for determining county funding is based on the number of farms,
acres of private cropland, acres of private forest land, acres of private
range/pasture land, and number of both beef and dairy cattle. The
"weighting" percentages are based on recommendations from the State Technical
Advisory Committee. (see below)
About 9% of the state EQIP allocation was held back in order to provide funds
for errors and omissions from previous-year EQIP contracts, Tribal interests and
special projects as designated by the State Conservationist. These special
projects will address air quality, and threatened and endangered species.
