Idaho 2003 State EQIP Sign-Up and Application Information
Local Working Group and State Technical Advisory Committee Process
NRCS seeks input from both the
Local Working Groups (LWGs) and the State Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) on
how the EQIP program is administered in Idaho.
LWGs are established in each county. The minimum membership includes the
local NRCS District Conservationist, the FSA County Committee and the county
Soil and Water Conservation District. Other local stakeholders are invited
to attend and provide input. The LWGs input is sought in order to ensure
that conservation needs are developed using community stakeholders input.
They assist in identifying resource concerns, recommend practices, priorities,
payment rates and funding needs.
Following submittal of information by LWGs, the State Conservationist convenes
the STAC and seeks further comment. The STAC consists of interested
stakeholders from local and state agencies, industry and environmental interest
groups. Using comments and suggestions provided by the STAC, the State
Conservationist develops the specific program requirements within the guidance
set forth in the EQIP program rules and regulations.
