Idaho Bulletin 450-6-2

November 28, 2005

SUBJECT:  TCH - Pest Management Practice Job Sheets

TO:  All Employees, NRCS, Idaho

Purpose.  To distribute information on new pest management practice job sheets for EQIP

Expiration Date.  September 30, 2006

New pest management practices will be offered in FY 2006 through the Environmental Quality Incentives (EQIP) Program.  The two practices are listed below.

Pest management – biofumigants. This practice is limited to the use of mustard or radish green manure crops as biological fumigants in the control of nematodes, thus reducing the need for chemical fumigants.

Pest management – scouting. This is limited to insect pests, and requires scouting by a trained individual. Scouting records must be maintained, along with the management decision that is based on each scouting report.

Questions related to the usage of the conservation practice job sheets should be directed to Mark Weatherstone, Assistant State Conservationist (Technical Services) at (208) 378-5720.
