SUBJECT:  PER - Safety Program

TO:   All Employees, NRCS, Idaho

Purpose. Inform employees of National Safety Month and Safety Practices

Expiration Date.  September 30, 2008

As National Safety Month 2007 comes to an end, we want to thank employees for adhering to safe work practices and procedures throughout this past year. Remember that whether at work, while driving, or enjoying leisure activities in your home or community keep safety and health practices at the forefront of your minds. 

Reminders:

  • Monthly safety meetings are required by policy. Safety discussion can be incorporated with staff meetings, document meeting topic discussions and who attended and file copy in correspondences files PER-360 Safety and Health, include information regarding monthly inspection of fire extinguishers, visual inspection of vehicles.

  • If operating an ATV’s, you must have received formal training and wear appropriate safety gear.

For continued safety and health practices, consider the following items throughout the year:

  • Discuss safety during Division meetings.

  • Conduct safety spot checks.

We have a new National Safety and OSHA Manager, Kenneth Kennedy. Therefore, we can expect to see more safety and health discussions over the next few months.  Contact Nanette Cambron, Safety Manager, Human Resources Specialist, at 208-378-5712, if you have questions.
