Idaho Bulletin 360-8-16June 30, 2008 SUBJECT: PER - Employee Development: Performance Management AgLearn Training TO: All Employees, NRCS, Idaho Purpose: To inform NRCS managers, supervisors and HR Specialists of the mandatory training requirement Expiration Date: September 30, 2008 Action Due Date: August 31, 2008 National Bulletin 360.8.43, PER – Employee Development: Performance Management in USDA has been issued requiring all managers, supervisors and HR Specialists to complete a new training course “Performance Management in USDA”. The training course, available through AgLearn, has been added to the appropriate learning plans, is titled Web-Based DA Performance Management 01 and is accessible at http://www.aglearn.usda.gov. This mandatory training required must be completed by August 31. The objectives of the course are to increase knowledge of and effectiveness in performance management at NRCS. NRCS staff members participated on a Department-wide team to customize a performance management course for USDA supervisors. This effort helps us in achieving Human Capital Strategic Goal #3, which is to: Advance to a results-oriented culture that fosters innovation, motivates staff, and sustains a high performing, diverse workforce. The online training course is designed to help supervisors at NRCS learn how to better manage performance by focusing on developing credible and measurable performance standards, in addition to evaluating employee performance within the overall context of performance management. A comprehensive Desk Guide that includes job aids, tip sheets, and other documents is accessible through the resources section of the training course. To receive credit for an individual module, you must complete each module lesson in one session at one time. If you exit a module before completing all lessons in the module, you will have to start the module over at the next session. Feedback from our Area Conservationists is very positive on the content of this training. Estimated time to complete this training is two hours. If this training is on your Learning Plan and you feel it should not be or that it should be on your Learning Plan and is not, send an email to Nanette Cambron at nanette.cambron@id.usda.gov .
