Idaho Bulletin 360-6-7

September 8, 2006

SUBJECT:  PER - Calendar Year (CY) 2006 Ethics Training Requirement

TO:  All Employees, NRCS, Idaho

Purpose.  To provide guidance on completion of required Ethics training modules

Expiration Date.  September 30, 2007

Action required by: November 17, 2006

On August 22, 2006, Dana York, Acting Chief, signed a memorandum requiring all NRCS employees to complete one hour of ethics training in calendar year 2006. This memorandum followed Secretary Mike Johanns’ memorandum expressing the Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) commitment to the highest ethical principles to maintain the public’s trust.

To fulfill this CY 2006 requirement all NRCS employees must complete three Ethics training modules. Three modules have been added to employees’ learning plans in AgLearn. To access AgLearn, go to http://www.aglearn.usda.gov/, click on “go to learning plan” and launch content from there.

The modules are:

  • Seeking Non-Federal Employment
  • Basic Post-Employment Restrictions
  • Using Government Property and Time

If an employee has already taken any of the three modules this calendar year, they will not have to retake them. The employee’s learning history will reflect the completion of these modules.

This training must be completed by November 17, 2006. A report will be generated from AgLearn to verify completion. Therefore, employees are not required to submit certificates of completion to the state office

This training requirement is in addition to the Ethics Training that will be provided to employees at the November NRCS meeting in Pocatello.

Contact Sue Ellis, training officer, at (208) 378-5733 or sue.ellis@id.usda.gov if you have questions.
