SUBJECT:  FNM - Society for Range Management (SRM) and the Idaho Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) Summer Tour August 7-8, 2007

TO:  All Employees, NRCS, Idaho

Purpose.
 To transmit information and guidance for the Combined Idaho Section for SRM and the Idaho Chapter of the SWCS Summer Tour

Idaho encourages participation in professional organizations as an excellent opportunity for technology transfer, training opportunities, information exchange, as well as networking.

The Idaho Section of the SRM and the Idaho Chapter of the SWCS is hosting a summer tour of the US Sheep Experiment Station (USSES) near Dubois, August 7-8, 2007. The tour will provide an opportunity to visit the headquarters sagebrush steppe and the summer range in the Centennial Mountains of Idaho and Montana.  The tour will begin on Tuesday, August 7 at 8:00 a.m. at the USSES front gate.  There is a registration fee of $40.00 per person before July 20 and a $50.00 registration after July 20 which will include lunch and dinner on Tuesday and a continental breakfast on Wednesday morning.  The tour will end around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.  A registration form has been attached for your use and should be returned to John Kendrick, USDA-NRCS-Idaho State Office, 9173 W. Barnes Dr., Suite C, Boise, Idaho, 83709.

Lodging in Clark County is limited.  The Stoddard Creek group campground has been reserved for tour attendees.  Those not interested in camping may find rooms at the Cross Roads Motel in Dubois (208-374-5258) or one of the many motels in Idaho Falls (52 mi. south).  You may register on the enclosed registration.

Idaho NRCS employees may attend on government time.  No per diem or other expenses are allowed and government vehicles are not to be used.  Employees must have prior approval from their supervisor. You do not have to be a member to attend the tour.
