Purpose. To request 2006 Civil
Rights and Workforce Diversity Award nominations

The National Civil Rights Committee (NCRC) is accepting nominations for the
National Civil Rights Awards and the NRCS Workforce Diversity Awards for fiscal
year 2006. The deadline to submit state nominations is November 1, 2006. Refer
to National Bulletin 230-6-1 on the electronic directives site for additional
information.
To ensure we meet the deadline to submit Idaho nominations
to the NCRC, we are requesting Civil Rights award nominations be submitted to
the Human Resources Office in Boise no later than October 20, 2006. This is a
change from the due date of October 27, 2006 stated in Idaho Bulletin 360-6-8.
There are two Civil Rights Award categories: Civil Rights
Program Delivery and Contributions to Workforce Diversity. These annual awards
recognize NRCS employees who demonstrate excellence in the advancement of civil
rights in program delivery and work force diversity. These awards may be for an
individual and/or group/team. Recipients of these awards become eligible to
compete for nationa1 Civil Rights awards.
All
employees, including supervisors and managers, are encouraged to submit
nominations for these awards.
Refer to
the attached Civil Rights Awards nomination criteria.

Prepare nomination on the AD-287-2, Recommendation & Approval of Awards
form.

Prepare a narrative justification (not to exceed one single spaced page) to
support the nomination. Refer to attached civil rights award nomination
criteria. Be sure to identify the type of award on the form: Civil Rights
Program Delivery or Contributions to Workforce Diversity.

Forward the Civil Rights Award nominations to the Human Resources Officer (HRO)
by October 20, 2006. The HRO will forward the nominations to the Idaho Civil
Rights Committee. The Idaho Civil Rights Committee will review the
nominations and make recommendations to the State Conservationist.
