Idaho Bulletin 170-5-2

February 14, 2005

SUBJECT:  CGI - On-line GIS training

TO:   All Employees, NRCS, Idaho

Purpose.
To announce the availability of on-line GIS training.

Expiration Date.    September 30, 2005

During the past few years, Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) and NRCS have worked together through licensing agreements to promote the use of ArcGIS in the field offices.  Many field computers now have GIS capabilities.

To ensure that NRCS completes its goals in the most efficient way possible, ERSI and NRCS have agreed to include on-line GIS training for NRCS employees as part of the licensing agreement.  There is no additional charge to participate in this training.

These on-line classes are available at the ESRI website.  ESRI provides training and instruction in working with ArcGIS.  The website ensures that the employee can participate in a class as time permits.

Attached are instructions on how to sign up for these classes.  If you should have any questions, please contact Pamela Lyon in the state office at 208-685-6990 or email at pam.lyon@id.usda.gov.
