Sims provides overall leadership for NRCS activities in Idaho to help people conserve, maintain, and improve our natural resources and environment.

Activities include providing technical assistance for conservation of natural resources on the State's non-Federal land; developing and delivering technical assistance and information on conservation practices to individuals, communities, Tribal government, and government agencies and private-sector organizations at all levels; helping protect life and property after fires, floods and other natural disasters; conducting natural resources surveys and analyses; and helping land users develop and apply conservation plans for their land.

Tribelhorn and Schmidt have responsibility for all NRCS activities in their areas.  They are responsible for effectively directing, planning, and coordinating all NRCS technical and administrative activities.

Bartholomew manages natural resource conservation programs that provide environmental, societal, financial and technical benefits.  Programs include Environmental Quality Incentives Program, Conservation Security Program, Conservation Reserve Program, Farm and Ranchland Protection Program, Technical Service Providers, Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program, and Wetland Reserve Program.  He also manages the Performance and Results Measurement System and Customer Service Toolkit that uses available GIS data to produce high quality conservation plans and plan maps.

Weatherstone provides technical leadership for all NRCS activities in conservation planning (including river basins, watershed and all other project planning), design and installation of all conservation practices used in NRCS programs, the plant materials and snow survey programs.

Staff includes the state conservation engineer, planning specialist, irrigation specialist, design engineer, environmental engineer, geologist, water supply specialist, hydrologist, electronic technicians, and technical specialists in agronomy, biology, economics, plant materials, range and woodland.

Hoover provides statewide technical leadership for planning and executing the National Cooperative Soil Survey Program and the National Resources Inventory (NRI) for assessing natural resource conditions and trends in the state.  He also provides leadership for information technology, geospatial technologies (GIS, GPS, remote sensing) and cartography.
